My Lady Bug Subscription Box Review

Hey Guys,

Today I'm working with a company called 'My Lady Bug'. My Lady Bug is a monthly period subscription box, delivering tampons/pads (or both!) right to your doorstep! Their initiative is to remove the stigma surrounding periods, it's enough stress having to deal with your period, so who wants to add extra stress by having to hide it, or feeling uncomfortable about the topic? It's a completely natural thing and it's definitely something men and women should be more comfortable talking about. My Lady Bug have invited me to share my experience with my period. I'll also include the ways I try to improve my mood throughout the most dreaded time of the month, hopefully it can help some of you guys too!

I first got my first period when I was 12/13 and it was the most exciting time of my life, I thankfully knew what it was and didn't have a horror film moment that I know a lot of girls have, I've heard stories of girls thinking they were bleeding out and dying! I had been anticipating it for about a year and when it finally came I felt so mature. Having an older sister to talk to it about made the experience a lot easier. My cycle was very irregular up until a couple of months ago, and every month it would be a surprise to me, as I had no way to tell when it was going to come except for some cramps a couple of days before.

I've always suffered from really bad cramps during my period and also have terrible mood swings, if you also experience this, you'll know just how frustrating it is to have to leave the comfort of your bed and actually do things during your period. But trust me, sometimes once you get out, it can leave you feeling so much better! I try to distract myself by watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with my family/friends or colouring in (adult colouring books have been the best thing that's happened to me, but that's a separate blog post). You could also do some light exercise i.e yoga or going for a walk. Other things like, getting enough sleep, making sure you're eating balanced meals (chocolate is always an exception in my opinion) and drinking herbal tea can all help too!

My Lady Bug takes the stress out of having your period, the fact that you don't have to go out and buy pads/tampons is great, the fact that they also give you sweets and treats is fantastic. I always find myself last minute needing pads/tampons (usually when the cramps have already kicked in) so the fact that you have the box there and then and you don't have to make any trips to the shop is perfect!

This month's box contained

  • Customized order of tampons/pads
  • 2 chocolate bars (galaxy minstrels and a galaxy duet)
  • Sample size Beverly Hills Formula toothpaste
  • 4 tea bags (2x pukka love and 2x pukka three tulsi)
  • 1 silk pouch
  • 1 My Lady Bug sticker
  • Sample of Cleanmarine Krill Oil

My Lady Bug is completely customizable and catered to you! You can pick what products you want from all your favourite brands (always, tampax pearl, lil-lets and veeda) and choose from different absorbencies. You can choose to get all tampons, all pads or a mix of both! You can also select different plans i.e pay month to month, prepay for 3, 6 or 12 month plans at discount rates! I usually buy tampax pearl regular and for night time use, always ultra normal.

All subscriptions are processed around the 19th-20th of each month, it will then take 5-7 for your order to be delivered. The box is designed to fit through most letter boxes and incase you were worried, the packaging is completely discreet.

Now what I'm sure you've all been wondering, how much is it? My Lady Bug costs 9.99 per month (incl shipping) which is super affordable, and also a great monthly present to yourself to hopefully help you dislike your period a little less! But if that wasn't good enough, the guys over at My Lady Bug have been kind enough to give me a 15% off discount code to share with my readers, go to My Lady Bug and at the checkout put in the coupon code 'SGBLOG'.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as i enjoyed writing it!

*I'd just want to thank My Lady Bug for sending me this package, they have sent me this one free for review, but I have loved it so much that I am going to continue to buy it myself.
