Ritzy Eyes, Eyelash Extensions

Hey Guys!
Today I'm going to be chatting about my first experience with eyelash extensions. Lash extensions are something I've always thought about getting, but just never knew enough about them to actually try it out. The lovely girls Ieva and Donata over at Ritzy Eyes invited me along to their studio to have my lashes done. Ritzy Eyes have just opened in Blanchardstown and they provide a range of services including:
  • Lash and brow studio
  • Training Academy
  • Lash Supplies

Firstly you start off by getting a patch test at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Now technically you don't actually have to do this. It's entirely up to the client providing they sign a waiver before the procedure, but if you have sensitive skin its best to just be safe!

Ritzy Eyes Classic Lash Set

When I first arrived at the studio I was offered a cup of tea and some chocolate while Ieva, Donata and I settled in for a chat. They began telling me all about the different lash sets that they offer and the pros and cons of lash extensions. This also led into the conversation of making sure you're going to a reputable technician when you get procedures like this done as damage to your eyelashes can occur when someone isn't trained properly.

Ieva and Donata have 6 collective years of experience and at the weekends offer a training academy for technicians. Ieva and Donata only take a small student group for the academy making it a very personal and productive learning space because you can get individual help instead of being in a big group. As well as taking on people who want to upgrade their skills, they also take on beginners so if there's anybody who's interested in a job as a lash technician I'd definitely recommend checking them out! Training starts at 350 for beginners and they are the only studio in Ireland to offer a full day training and refill workshops after 2-3 weeks.

After we had finished our tea it was time to get started. I got up onto the bed and was given a blanket to cuddle up under. Donata started by taping my bottom eyelashes in place. Then she cleansed my top lashes and began. The entire thing was completely painless and comfortable, I actually nearly fell asleep a couple of times because I was so relaxed. Something that always scared me about getting lash extensions was that they would look too dramatic on me, so Donata used the Classic Set, which is a more natural look that suits me really well as I don't usually wear too much make up! Ieva and Donata gave me the aftercare for my lashes and a little spoolie to brush through them and I was on my way.

So what do I think about lash extensions and will I get them in the future? Well I can safely say, that I'm going to go back and get them done again, I feel like they've made me feel more comfortable not wearing makeup and have brightened up my face as well. They make doing makeup so much easier and the end product looks a lot better. Plus I haven't stopped receiving compliments about them since my appointment!

If you're a technician looking for a new supplier, Ritzy Eyes also have a full range of superior quality supplies that have been outsourced by Ieva and Donata after long testing and researching. They also offer gift certificates that can be redeemed for either services or training, with Christmas coming up its the perfect way to spoil your loved ones!

Find Ritzy Eyes on Instagram @ritzyeyes or call 0894836841.

A huge thanks to Ieva and Donata for inviting me to their studio and opening up my eyes to lash extensions and how great they are.

My Dental Clinic - Six Month Braces

Hey Guys! Todays post is basically just a little video I made with the My Dental Clinic. As many of you have probably seen on my instagram, back in August I started on my journey of Six Month Braces. So far my experience has been great with the braces, I've seen huge changes in my teeth and cannot wait to see the end result! If you're interested in 6 month braces check out the My Dental Website for more info!

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to all of the amazing staff at the My Dental Clinic for my treatment and wonderful service!

P.S I'm going to make another blog post soon going into a bit more detail, probably closer to the end of my treatment!

Baker's Boutique Cupcakes

Hey guys!

So as some of you may know I've recently turned 19! Hurray for surviving my first year of being an adult.

The guys over at Baker's Boutique kindly sent me some cupcakes to try as a gift. Now let me just say, I have never had a cupcake better than any of these.

Since Baker's Boutique can deliver, I didn't even have to leave my house and get them myself, honestly who doesn't like getting food delivered to them!? I was sent a variety of 6 different flavours of:

  • Chocolate
  • Peanut Butter
  • Caramel
  • Vanilla
  • Oreo
  • Lemon Drizzle
Plus you can request different flavours you'd like to try!

The cakes came gift boxed and tied with a bow which I thought was a really nice touch! Believe me when I say that these cupcakes tasted as good as they look, I don't actually know how my boyfriend and I actually managed to refrain from eating them long enough to get some photos taken!

So after the pictures, we cut the cupcakes up so that my family could try them too (apparently eating 6 cupcakes by yourself isn't exactly acceptable) and judging by how fast they were gone, I'm guessing I can speak for everyone when I say that these were the best cupcakes ever. They all tasted so different and you could really tell what flavour each one was supposed to be even if you didn't initially know.

If you're looking for a gift for a friend or family member, I definitely recommend checking these guys out, a box of 6 costs €12 which for the quality of these cakes is amazing, they even offer all of the flavours gluten free. All cakes are homemade with quality ingredients and they can cater for any occasion or season!

I'd also like to thank Pat and Laura who run Bakers Boutique for being some of the kindest people I've had the pleasure of working with. They were super friendly and happy to answer any questions I had!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, I know that writing it has made me immensely crave cupcakes so I can only imagine you guys are in the same boat, in which case, why not put an order in today? ;)

Ps thanks to Conor for helping me to take pictures, without you, I would have eaten them all before getting a chance to take the photos.

My Lady Bug Subscription Box Review

Hey Guys,

Today I'm working with a company called 'My Lady Bug'. My Lady Bug is a monthly period subscription box, delivering tampons/pads (or both!) right to your doorstep! Their initiative is to remove the stigma surrounding periods, it's enough stress having to deal with your period, so who wants to add extra stress by having to hide it, or feeling uncomfortable about the topic? It's a completely natural thing and it's definitely something men and women should be more comfortable talking about. My Lady Bug have invited me to share my experience with my period. I'll also include the ways I try to improve my mood throughout the most dreaded time of the month, hopefully it can help some of you guys too!

I first got my first period when I was 12/13 and it was the most exciting time of my life, I thankfully knew what it was and didn't have a horror film moment that I know a lot of girls have, I've heard stories of girls thinking they were bleeding out and dying! I had been anticipating it for about a year and when it finally came I felt so mature. Having an older sister to talk to it about made the experience a lot easier. My cycle was very irregular up until a couple of months ago, and every month it would be a surprise to me, as I had no way to tell when it was going to come except for some cramps a couple of days before.

I've always suffered from really bad cramps during my period and also have terrible mood swings, if you also experience this, you'll know just how frustrating it is to have to leave the comfort of your bed and actually do things during your period. But trust me, sometimes once you get out, it can leave you feeling so much better! I try to distract myself by watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with my family/friends or colouring in (adult colouring books have been the best thing that's happened to me, but that's a separate blog post). You could also do some light exercise i.e yoga or going for a walk. Other things like, getting enough sleep, making sure you're eating balanced meals (chocolate is always an exception in my opinion) and drinking herbal tea can all help too!

My Lady Bug takes the stress out of having your period, the fact that you don't have to go out and buy pads/tampons is great, the fact that they also give you sweets and treats is fantastic. I always find myself last minute needing pads/tampons (usually when the cramps have already kicked in) so the fact that you have the box there and then and you don't have to make any trips to the shop is perfect!

This month's box contained

  • Customized order of tampons/pads
  • 2 chocolate bars (galaxy minstrels and a galaxy duet)
  • Sample size Beverly Hills Formula toothpaste
  • 4 tea bags (2x pukka love and 2x pukka three tulsi)
  • 1 silk pouch
  • 1 My Lady Bug sticker
  • Sample of Cleanmarine Krill Oil

My Lady Bug is completely customizable and catered to you! You can pick what products you want from all your favourite brands (always, tampax pearl, lil-lets and veeda) and choose from different absorbencies. You can choose to get all tampons, all pads or a mix of both! You can also select different plans i.e pay month to month, prepay for 3, 6 or 12 month plans at discount rates! I usually buy tampax pearl regular and for night time use, always ultra normal.

All subscriptions are processed around the 19th-20th of each month, it will then take 5-7 for your order to be delivered. The box is designed to fit through most letter boxes and incase you were worried, the packaging is completely discreet.

Now what I'm sure you've all been wondering, how much is it? My Lady Bug costs 9.99 per month (incl shipping) which is super affordable, and also a great monthly present to yourself to hopefully help you dislike your period a little less! But if that wasn't good enough, the guys over at My Lady Bug have been kind enough to give me a 15% off discount code to share with my readers, go to My Lady Bug and at the checkout put in the coupon code 'SGBLOG'.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as i enjoyed writing it!
-Sinead xx

*I'd just want to thank My Lady Bug for sending me this package, they have sent me this one free for review, but I have loved it so much that I am going to continue to buy it myself.

Bright Summery Makeup Look Ft Nima Brushes

Hey Guys,

So today I'm going to be doing a post that is a little out of my comfort zone, I'll be sharing this new makeup look I've started to do and I hope you all like it! A little disclaimer: I have absolutely no makeup training and I don't feel like I'm an expert of any sort but I just enjoy trying out makeup and think I can usually make myself look halfway decent, so I thought I'd just go for it! This whole makeup look is used mainly from stuff I found in boots or another drug store in my area except the Morphe palette (which unfortunately got slightly battered in the post)

Makeup I'll be using

Brushes I'll be using

Before we begin I'd also like to thank Nima Brushes for sending me a sample of their brushes, I can't recommend them enough, they are definitely becoming one of my favourite makeup brush brands! Also they're Irish so it would be great if you guys could check them out and support them! Check out their site here

Firstly I start off by using the real techniques essential foundation brush to apply my L'oreal Infallible 24h foundation in the shade 015 porcelain.

Then I apply the collection lasting perfection concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes.

Next I take the NYX matte bronzer in the shade 02 deep and apply it to my cheekbones using the Nima Slanted Kabuki Brush.

I then use Sleek Makeup blush in Rose Gold using my Real Techniques MultiTask brush.

I then apply my highlighter. I use the Catrice High Glow mineral highlighting powder in 010 Light infusion.

I now move onto my eyebrows and I use this shade in the Morphe 35p Palette to fill in any sparse areas.

Now it's time to start on my shadow, first I take the Makeup Revoloution, Redemption Palette 3. I start using this sparkly pink on my eyelid

I then go back to the Morphe palette and use this colour in my crease and blend it in.

Then I take the colour below it and darken the outsides.

I now get my Soap and Glory Supercat liquid eyeliner and (very carefully) draw on my wings.

Then to finish off my eyes I use the Benefit Roller Lash mascara.

Lastly I use the Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick in the shade 56 boho nude.

And this is the finished look!

I'm super impressed with how well the products that I've used are, they're all affordable enough and it just shows that you don't have to break the bank in order to get a gorgeous makeup look!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, I know it's not something I usually do but I would really love to start doing it more as it's a lot of fun! Leave me a comment below telling me what you think of this look.

Lazy Saturday with Best Pancake Recipe Ft. Odd Pears

Hey guys!

My favourite thing about the weekend is having absolutely nothing to do and getting to have a lie in. Most weekends my boyfriend will stay over and we'll stay up really late watching YouTube videos and movies and then try to drag ourselves out of bed before 12pm. When we finally wake up we usually stay in bed for another hour just watching videos again.

This weekend was no different except for the fact that we got a delivery from Odd Pears, a company that makes cool socks. You get three socks, two the same and one odd so you can mix and match! I thought this was such a cool idea and we ended up taking a bunch of pictures

We finally decided it was time for breakfast and it was time to make some pancakes! We make these pancakes at least once a week and honestly they are they best pancakes I've ever had and they're so easy to make!

All you need is:
  •  300ml of milk
  • 1 egg
  • A pinch of salt
  • A drop of oil or some melted butter
  • About 100g-200g of plain flour
Pour the milk into a jug and mix in your egg, oil, salt and flour. Mix until mixture is smooth and there's no lumps and pour into a pan and cook for a couple of minutes.

Then add any toppings you might like, my favourite is a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

And that's it, they're so easy to make but yet so good!

What do you guys get up to on the weekend? Do you have lazy weekends like me or are your weekend schedules booked up! Let me know below
